ETIAS (post Brexit visa to travel to EU)

EITAS will be free for under 18s and over 70s - from what I understand these categories will pay upfront and then be refunded - possibly in a sequential transaction ?

All UK passport holders will require one - the free aspect is a separate matter.

All that are traveling to the Schengen zone or the other 4 EU countries included in the scheme and do not hold another passport that excludes the need (eg irish or Andorra)

But I'd never heard of EES which seems to start in September 2022 https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/news/eu-to-launch-biometric-entry-exit-system-in-a-few-months/

The EU site has some info on EES but the start date is the end of May 2023
