    Thank you all, some really helpful things to think about. I've decided I'll just keep saving as normal, then decide if and when to give according to the circumstances. I don't think fair really comes into it - I'm not going to give the same amount to a nibling that's going to blow it all on designer clothes as a nibling who's really trying and struggling to save a deposit for a house.
