Britannia praking charge rescinded but already paid

I was significantly delayed in a Waitrose store causing me to get a penalty charge. I called the store and wrote to the store providing all evidence and explained what happened. The charge was due to go up from £50 to £90. I panicked and paid the £50 because I certainly could not afford the £90. Since then, the store manager has replied explaining that my mail went to junk mail and that the charge has been rescinded. Which is great news, except I now need to get my £50 back
There is no way to contact Britannia on the phone to ask them for a refund. There's only a bot on the website which tells me that if I paid, it was a clear admission of guilt so I have no right to appeal. Is there anything I can do about this? The bot did provide an e-mail address but I fear that it will go into a black hole or that they will give me the run around, so I wanted to make sure of my rights before I invest more time in this.

Send a complaint to Sara Roberts at the BPA saying it's impossible to work out how to contact Britannia to refund your wrongly-paid PCN:
sara.r@britishparking.co.uk
Attach proof it's been rescinded by Waitrose and say you feel ripped off and with no way to contact Britannia. Say this seems unprofessional in the extreme and if the BPA are not prepared to sort this, you will take it to your MP.
Next time, come here first. You don't pay these things. Not even at the 'discount.'PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
