New build flooring by developer or independent contractor

Our developer quoted £5k to fit carpet and vinyl through out, due to the time scale, we didn't have many options to pick what we wanted.
We're paying someone independently to fit carpet and laminate flooring and someone else to put tile floors in. All in all, we're saving nearly £2k doing that but we've been able to pick exactly what we want.
Our skirting boards have already been installed but this isn't a problem for our fitters as they can work with them.
Only thing I would suggest thinking about is your toilets. We're having to pay a plumber to remove them so we can have the floors tiled.0
