I didn't manage to do my musclefood order, so am carrying forward my balance from this month into August.
Also, spotted an error on my spreadsheet which meant i have overstated my spend for the month.
Closing on a very happy £393/465
£72 carried forward

At sons trying to create shopping order for next week without being able to check cupboards and fridge. Have guests on island for next 2 weeks so tricky to plan meals as well. 2nd until 8th is 2 GD’s and then 9th - 16th their Mum and Dad are joining them. Made up a lasagna before we came away and have a chicken and some fish ordered for when parents arrive so have made a start. Lots of bits and pieces in freezer that I can make into meals for the girls so hopefully can keep costs down a bit. Freezer is also full of ice lollies and cones for little visitors in this lovely weather.Hose pipe ban coming into force on 5th August so I must also make sure that the runner beans and tomatoes are really well watered. It is going to be so much harder with watering cans! Can’t believe that there wasn’t enough water stored in all of the wet weather we had last winter! Locally a reservoir has been drained to make way for 35 new homes. Complete madness when they can’t store enough water for the homes already there but that another story.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Doom_and_Gloom said:We had put a £10 note in a pot for potential overage this month. We have £8.29 in said pot as of now for the rest of the month. This will hopefully stop any unnecessary spends. I can hope.
£251.71/£250.
£1.71 over.
I have harvested another batch of oyster mushrooms today of around 72g. They will be going in my dinner tonight. Stir fry or japanese curry with rice.
Not sure what OH will have. Likely pasta with cheese sauce.
I'm decaring for this month now even though it ends tomorrow. So July is as follows£265.12/£250.
£15.11 over.
This is better than the over spend last month so small win there at least.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy6 -
July grocery spending: £464.2, so unfortunately the grocery challenge for £400 failed.
I've been persuaded to buy a bit extra each time I shop to build up my inventory, mainly canned and dried stuff. Perhaps this is the reason why I failed the challenge this month. I find it difficult to keep the balance - cutting the grocery bill and having a modest stock of goods for later use.Family of 3 on the journey of Mortgage Free5 -
Thought I'd gone over with my last small shop but forgot I'd set my limit at £200 for the two of us so with no more spends I can declare a total spend of £182.81, which is £17.19 under.
There's not much food left, fridge almost empty and the freezer is about two-thirds full of scrunched-up plastic bags. Will do the first shop of August on Monday and try to keep under £180 for next month.

Well I’ve gone over yet again - £378/£350 to report. I didn’t realise just how much of an impact having my children at home would make to the budget. Hopefully next months will be better!3

Hello all.
I have also gone over budget. £139/£120.
I have been shopping with a list and I cut out meat apart from for one meal a week and I cooked from scratch. I will try again next month. I will not be defeated!
