Help with European brake down insurance for car 15 years + old

Hi all, long time since posting, quick bit of help required.
As in title, our VW is now 15 years old, not been abroad since 2019 (obvious reasons), been on various road trips and never missed a beat yet.
However, looking to get brake down cover as we all should if travelling to Europe but I’m struggling to get cover, ALL of the usual suspects have in their small print cover only available to either upto ten or fifteen years, worth saying we have three vehicles in total (one is a 35 year old weekender that, well, probably won’t leave the UK) and the other is a 2008 Fiat, so would do the personal cover if needed but again, try to link that to European brake down and again, max 10~15 years apply.
NB using the Fiat for Euro road trip isn’t do-able, its a 500 sport and a real stiff ride, we’d need Bupa cover instead.

Just a foot note, my wife’s found that RAC do an add on but its a staggering £270! On top of annual cover.

The collectives thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated at present.

The only thought I have is that it's "breakdown" not "brake down". Other than that I can't help, the last time I needed European breakdown cover was in the 70s and, apart from supplying a book of car terms in 9 languages, the AA weren't much use. I've never forgotten that carbon brushes are "les balais" though.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

We previously had this cover with Start Rescue, but I see they now have a 10 year age limit on the vehicle.

Did an internet search with the OP's question and the first result appears to cover vehicles under 16 yo, so that would seemingly include the OP's 15 yo VW.  Would need to be confirmed I suppose:

The thing I must stress is that I have never heard of that company before and can't say anything about their service.  Maybe there are others here that will have heard of them.

The better RAC packages are not age limited, but you need to haggle to get a decent price. I got fed up of haggling each year
    so moved to GreenFlag.

No longer available if you have a UK address.  Ours was cancelled by ADAC a couple of years ago.

Nothing to do with Brexit.  I understand that the AA who provided the service for ADAC in the UK pressured ADAC to withdraw their service for UK residents as they were losing business as ADAC were so much cheaper (we had two person Europe wide annual cover for any vehicle we were driving including our motorhome for around  €120 per year).  This has happened in several European markets and ADAC will now only suppply services to German residents Europewide or non-residents when touring Germany.

Interesting. In the olden days, the traditional motoring 'clubs' (AA, RAC, ADAC, ANWB etc.) were all members of FIA and/or AIT, and the rules prevented them encroaching on other clubs' territories. This was probably illegal under competition law, but nobody bothered.

In 1993 the European Single Market cleared the way for any of those clubs to operate anywhere in the EU, which some have done with varying degrees of success.

I had assumed that our leaving the SM and customs union had just made it much more difficult for ADAC to operate here. But I'm surprised they didn't simply tell the AA to b***er off.

Problem is that if they had told the AA where to go the AA could have withdrawn service for German based ADAC members who needed recovery in the UK.  This was quite a hot topic on several motorhome forums when it happened as many of us were with ADAC.
