Bright App Accuracy

Thank the app is making more sense nowHelpmeoutofthismess said:Those figures are the kWh not £’s. If they are correct and you do use 3 kWh per day,I wish I had your usage!!
oh I just looked at mine and the daily figure has not updated for today yet so that skews the figures 😐0 -
3 kwh a day could be a low day... The monthly usage is 230kwh, so over7.5 a dayHelpmeoutofthismess said:If they are correct and you do use 3 kWh per day,I wish I had your usage!!1 -
Certainly for electricity, there is a couple of bugs on the Home page of the Bright App they are hoping to fix next month. If you click on the i button on the RHS, it says the Daily usage is the previous day - it's not, it's the current day and it isn't necessarily up-to-date (even when you refresh). At the top where it says Latest Daily Usage, it's not, it is a rolling 24hr usage and will get re-labelled as such with the update.marcia_ said:Complicated working it out 🤪 no good at math
i should be on BG SVR in the north west
heres what the app says
You are better off using the Electricity and Gas tabs if you want to see detailed usage where you can look by the Day, hour, 30 min, week or month if you want BUT note the App is not a "live" App so things aren't always up-to-date even after a refresh and you may have to wait a while and refresh a few times before it all updates. Also NOTE the Home page and some other pages don't always update at the same time, so you need to check that the hourly/30 min usage is up-to-date to get an accurate usage. When the data is updated, it is fully accurate for kWh usage. As has been mentioned cost usage may not be correct if your Smart Meter hasn't been correctly updated with current tariffs.4 -
Well, I've got an update to the App version 0.3.18 and what a disappointment!
Apart from a change to "dark mode" (not bothered) it claims minor bug fixes. I don't know what they are but the only one I can see is the green pop-up box on the "Show tine of use rates" graph now shows the same times as the boxes below BUT they are still in GMT (nothing to say it is) whereas everything else is BST (UTC+1) also according to the App Settings.
.
At time of post drafting, on the Electricity Summary on the Home page The Daily Usage (according to the i bubble is the previous day) - it's not, it's still the current day (now Saturday 0029 so no full 1/2hr usage) and shows 0.
The Latest Daily Usage above is not, it seems to be the "previous day" (Friday), as data is supposedly currently updated to midnight Friday, according to the detailed days usage page BUT not according to the total of the 30 min or 1hr usage both of which give different figures, with low usage I was previously happy that the 1hr usage figures were accurate, but the 30min ones slightly less so because of rounding to 1 decimal place !!
I shall provide Bright with some "feedback".

I am not sure how anybody can be disappointed with an App that Hildebrand makes available for free to all consumers: not just those that have spent £70 on its IHD/CAD. Even the Octopus App is not accurate until the day afternoon the data is pulled. I am sure that Jane will welcome the feedback.Phones4Chris said:Well, I've got an update to the App version 0.3.18 and what a disappointment!

I'm not talking about it being accurate only after the data is pulled. Please re-read what I've written (twice now in different posts). I know their team is extremely busy, but why shouldn't one be disappointed when Jane indicated that those two outstanding issues I mentioned have not been sorted and one not exactly fixed correctly, when it was suggested they would be. I have not yet given her the feedback but will when I have time. After all as you say, it's a free app, we may know the shortcomings, but there will be plenty who don't.[Deleted User] said:

Perhaps get all the facts before making your sarcastic remarks.Mstty said:"You can't please any of the people any of the time"1 -
It's a fair quite for anyone in the service industry these days. That way you won't be disappointed 👍1
