Who do you have looking at this, Chloe?I'd also email Baxi with your symptoms - make sure you explain that all three lights are out when it isn't working.0

The main lights aren’t always on on these. When they get a demand the lights illuminate. Working off a switch live. I fixed one last week.Problems with these include the ‘H’ seal that perishes and leaks from the combustion chamber into the air box. This in turn shuts down on the fan overheat stat. Secondly the flow switches are know to be very poor and leak. You’ll be very lucky to get it out through, the screws normally snap and it’s a new main heat ex. I won’t touch them for this reason. Fixed price repair or new boiler.1

OK, well in my past dealings with this boiler, I believe 'normal' behaviour to be that, when switched on (either hot water/heating or both) the mains power light on the boiler would be on and it would cycle on to burning as required by the two wireless receivers. These would always have a green light on when 'on' and an intermittent red flashing light when talking to the transmitters which would trigger the boiler firing up when necessary.
The hot water is set automatically for 20 mins around 6am and 20 mins around 4pm and during this time I would hear it fire up pretty constantly.. Now it either doesn't start at all (no lights on anything - receivers or boiler - or it starts for maybe 5 minutes - power light and burner light on - and then abruptly shuts off. This is the same if I turn it manually to on. On past experience it would be unusual for the water in the tank to remain hot enough for it only to need to fire up for 5 minutes in a 24 hour period.
When I try the heating. If I turn it on, it does nothing - no lights on anything - when I turn the thermostat up it kicks into life. Again I don't think this is what it would normally do - it would normally have the power light on and green light on the receiver when on, even when the temperature has been reached. I haven't tested leaving the heating on to see what happens as the weather is too warm.
The only other thing I noticed (which may be a red herring) is I ran a fair bit of water off the tank last night and I couldn't hear it filling up again.

Thanks Jefaz and Chloe. Ah, so wired differently to most boilers, than, and not what I expected.
Haven't a Scooby - could be all sorts...
Home are should ultimately sort it. Please let us know what the problem was.
(The refilling tank is likely a red herring, as this wouldn't affect the CH side, and not even the DHW side as far as the boiler is concerned. Are you sure you'd always hear it before?)0
