Baxi Boiler Solo He Problem - power?

My mother has a Baxi Boiler Solo HE. She has no hot water. Normally when this happens it's the battery in the wireless thermostat but it doesn't seem to be the case this time. When I look under the panel at the base of the boiler there are no lights lit at all. Should the green power light on the boiler be lit all the time even when the heating and water are off? Many thanks.

There are three lights side by side? A red 'lockout' light on the left (comes on if summat has happened to the boiler, and you press the 'rest' button to hopefully clear the issue), a central green 'burner' light (only comes on when boiler actually firing), and a green 'mains power' light which should always be on.If the power light ins't on, then you check to see if the boiler isn't receiving power. Can you see the power isolator switch near the boiler? Does it have a red neon light on it? Does it have a fuse holder? If so, check the fuse, and replace with a 3A jobbie.

Thank you - will investigate further. Luckily it's the hottest day of the year so cold water won't be too bad!0

Don't you have an immersion heater on your hot cylinder?0

No, it's just the boiler that heats the hot water tank.1

Tried it this morning, it came on fine, 2 green lights - checked 10 minutes later and all was silent and no lights again!0

I'd suspect the main PCB
It's obviously got power .

Afaik, it SHOULD be wired so that the 'mains' green light is ALWAYS on when the boiler is turned on, regardless of whether it or actually firing up or not. (And, when it fires up, the middle green light should also come on.)
So, if the mains light is also off at times, that would suggest either an intermittent fault in the power supply to it, or else an electrical fault inside the boiler, possibly the PCB as Browntoa says.
When you call a GasSafe, make sure you explain the symptoms fully, in case they want to bring a sparky too!

Still not fixed. It has proved to be an intermittent problem. Sometime it fires up for 5 minutes or longer, then cuts out, sometimes it doesn't work at all. Visit 1 reckoned it was the wifi transmitter from the hot tank to the boiler, said he would send someone else. Visit 2 replaced the wifi transmitter, worked OK while he was here, but it didn't work at all this afternoon. Waiting for visit 3....0

If the MAIN power light isn't coming on, then it's a 'main' power issue. Ie, now't to do with the controls.
So, either the mains power supply is intermittent (unlikely), or else it's within the boiler, quite possibly the PCB as said by someone.0
