    And another landlord intervention...
The ECHO understands the landlord has contacted the management agent for the car park at Stella Precinct, and Ralph’s fine has now been rescinded. More than this, the landlord has also asked for Ralph’s car registration be added to a list of visitors who will not have to pay for parking, due to his age and vulnerabilities.
While the landlord's action is commendable for Ralph he misses the fact other drivers like Ralph will be unable to pay for parking as they don't own a smartphone.

Rip Off Britain today featured a lady with an unfair PCN from I-Park Services.

Her heinous crime was to drop off her husband at their GP Surgery. Good for her, she refused to pay the invoice.

They also mentioned a taxi driver who actually folded and paid £100 (different GP Surgery) and all the taxi drivers in the area are boycotting that place now, forcing patients to hobble out to the double yellows on the street outside.

This is typical in towns across the country, as we know only too well. Quelle surprise, I Park rushed to cancel the two featured PCNs to try to limit the damage of this TV show piece.

The worst thing was that the show's 'expert' Gary Rycroft, wrongly stated that there is a TEN MINUTE 'grace period' as you arrive and leave a car park.

    There should be.

    But there isn't of course.

Why is it no so-called expert knows the difference between a consideration period (which the disgusting IPC has set at ZERO in many cases) and a grace period?
Was that before or after you watched homes under the hammer? what a life being able to watch day time TV
PS its really upset my working routine now the moved classic corrie!

Teehee! In fact, even though it is an utterly crap show with ladies older than me paying lip service to consumer journalism, I recorded it while I was at the gym, for something rubbish to watch at lunchtime.

But - haha - I know you are just jealous that I am retired by the sea and can twiddle my thumbs if I want, or watch Homes Under the Hammer or just be a lady who lunches!

You'll get there in a few years.  :)

Private Parking Company continues to issue PCNs to drivers parked in free public spaces.

Since March 2025 Neil Milkin, 74, has received FIVE incorrect PCNs. He along with ‘dozens of other people,’ is so fed up with this Neil intends to file a small claims case for damages for the harassment and stress.
See Neil's 2/1/2026 email sent to Vehicle Control Services on Trustpilot (and his other 3 reviews)
Neil had contacted the police saying this is a criminal matter, and they said it’s a civil matter, not a police matter.
