Cancelling Virgin Broadband- 1 month Notice required

Just received email from Virgin about my 18 month expiring on 8th July.
It says I need to give them 30 days notice to end contract ( its jumping from around £24.00PM to £ 54.00 PM ).
They'll want to charge me the new rate for the remaining days,as I want to move.
Is there anything I can do to stop them charging me the new rate pro rata?
TIA

No, because that's what you agreed to.All providers work this way, all your 18 month "contract" is to stay with them for 18 months at a cheaper rate, and when that runs out you go back to full price until either you move provider or cancel it altogether. if this happens to run into a new billing month then you'll get a pro-rats refund. So for argument's sake your deal runs out 1st of the month and its £30 a month. You gave notice on the 15th of the previous month so you'll be charged for 15 days of the new one and get a £15 refund.0
