Shower won't turn off - Mira Advance

Evening All
Just wondering if anyone can help me please. I have a fairly old Mira Advance shower which has decided it doesn't want to turn off today. I was rinsing my hair and felt it was fairly cool and then it started beeping although it has does this previously now and again and usually turning it off and leaving it a while resets it and can use it as normal. Today it wouldn't switch off. I can press the button and it looks like it's off but the water doesn't stop. I tried pulling the shower cord too, still had water and even with turning it off at the fusebox, still lots of water. I have had to turn the stop tap valve feeding the shower but wondering does this mean it's gone to shower heaven or is this kind of thing fixable? I don't want to call someone out to have a look if it's not economical to fix or if will just be written off so hoping someone more knowledgeable than me can help guide what it is and if worth calling someone out? Many thanks.

Yes, it's fixable. Is it worth fixing? I dunno - how old is it.This will be the inlet valve, which is usually solenoid operated. It could be stuck open, or just have a lump of scale or grit caught in it.How DIYish are you? If you do a search for spare parts, you should be able to ID the inlet solenoid valve, and make a judgment whether it's worth repairing or buying a replacement. If you are a 'competent' DIYer, then you could even explore removing the existing valve and stripping it down. You DO know that leccy is nasty stuff, don't you? It can actually stop you from finishing the job. Forever.2

I don't know how old your model is, but a quick Google suggests that the flow valve is pretty costly, so unlikely to be worth replacing (the one I looked at had some electronics attached to it, so more than just a solenoid valve. It was over £60... BUT, it looked quite strip-downable

I am not DIY savvy at all and terrified of electrics. I turn the power off just to change bulbs! I had a house fire years ago that was caused by an electrical fault (not mine) but would never attempt to do anything like this myself. It's probably about 10 years old. Been a good shower but happy to buy a new one if a costly fix. I had been looking into renovating the bathroom. This may spur me on to get some quotes earlier than I had planned. Thanks for replying1

The model and power of the shower might be on a sticker at the bottom of the unit.
Let us know and we might be able to help..1 -
Just to add too that before it wouldn't turn off the water had also ran cool then cold so no temperature control. This may be linked to the non stop water?0

When it carries on running, is it at full whack, or much less?

I'm surprised the heating didn't keep on going too, then, as in most leccy showers this is switched by the water flow. But yours could be different.
Most likely cheaper to replace the whole unit, but it all comes down to whether you find someone who's happy to ,'repair'.
Have you asked Mira themselves as to the likely issue? They are usually very good at responding.1 -
I hadn't thought to ask them as it's so old but will give it a try. I'm looking to have a mixer shower put in as just had a new boiler and think this may be a cheaper and economical way to go. I had been looking to do up the bathroom so now this is the perfect excuse to bring it forward!0
