Biomass Heating price increased whilst in contract

I have a biomass heating contract which ran at a fixed price until 22nd May 2022. Just had my bill and covering email stating due to the current oil prices they will not be offering new fixed price contracts, which is totally fine.
However they have charged me the new higher rate between Jan - Mar even though I was still in the original fixed price contract.

Can they do that?

Thanks

As above, check your contract very carefully. There may be an escalation clause hidden in there somewhere which gives them the right to crank it up in the case of excess cost increases.

With all the storms we had bringing down trees I would have thought there would be biomass aplenty.
