How to get meter changed from pre-pay to normal?

Pre payment meter were in my property when I moved in 11 or 12 years ago I just rang up and asked for them to be exchanged BG said yes but the electric supplier said no so I switched to BG and had both exchanged at once after the electric account was moved to BG.Someone please tell me what money is0
