The driver should have given you details there and then. So was there an offence committed? I would'nt have left the driver go without some details.

You should have reported it to your insurance company anyway, so I'd go back to them and ask them to take up the case. You might need a crime number as well as you should have been given some insurance details at the scene (think so anyway).
The law says "... if required to do so by any person having reasonable grounds for so requiring, give his name and address and also the name and address of the owner and the identification marks of the vehicle."

So if the OP didn't ask, no offence was committed at that point. The TP should then have reported to the police, but we don't know whether he did.
That would all depend on whether the works car park is a public place. There's may not even be an offence.
    Fair point.
  • Working for a haulage firm and tarring them all with the same brush you're making them no money, you're costing them money so you'll be bottom of the priority list.

Who knows, maybe that company is top drawer. I'm only speaking how mine operate.

The driver left his details on a note then left. I got more details from him when i contacted him.  My works car park is private.

I will speak to my insurance company tomorrow and find out what they say.

    Thank you for the advice?
