I do not pay by dd but applied last month for it manually and got it transferred into my account within 3 working days. However MIL pays by dd and is still waiting. How fair is that!

  • My mother doesn't pay council tax as she is on a low income. According to your list, in her area the rebate will be credited to her council tax account. How does she get the money?

Probably best to contact the specific council to find out.

I have paid my years council tax in full less the £150. I will wait and see what my very ineffective council decides to do. I have checked the list and its tbc.  I will imagine they will contact me to ask how I want it to be paid, they will pay it to me, then I will contact them to pay my remaining £150.

They key part there is should you have paid in full by now? If so then the council will begin enforcement measures as you are in arrears, paying the hill and receiving the rebate are wo separate processes.

You will have to explain how I'm in arrears please.  Are you saying because I paid nearly £2000 and I only have £150 of this 2022/2023 bill outstanding that the council will consider enforcement action? By my reckoning I'm not in arrears until February, by which time I will have received £150. Which I will send straight back to them, although some councils are saying to their bill payers, that if they dont pay by direct debit and dont supply any bank details then the £150 will be credited to their council tax account, which will suit me and save me a job.

    🤔

Yes, otherwise I wouldn't be entitled to £150.

Not within the councils gift to do so.
