I have recently switched from Three to Lebara. The number ported today but I can't yet make outgoing calls or send text messages. Lebara say it can take another 24 hours as there are 'files to move over'.
  • Based on my current troubles, I would not recommend porting your number to Lebara...

My number port from Vodafone (Voxi) was scheduled for Fri 15th July & sure enough service stopped on my Voxi SIM approx. 9am that day.

There was a temporary number with included minutes/data etc on my new Lebara SIM which stopped working later that same day.

But after that, there was NO service.

I've reset the phone etc... just getting "Lebara - Emergency calls only"... and a phone message that says "SIM not provisioned for voice". Also tried the SIM in the old Nokia/burner phone (unlocked too) and no service.

Wasted time on the chat with Lebara on Saturday & Sunday & Monday (today), finally the Lebara agent said... "We have still not received any update from the Vodafone porting team. I request you to wait for sometime" then when I asked them to send a new SIM card: "There is no issue with the SIM card. It is internal portability issue. The files from your old provider is not transferred successfully to Lebara which is causing the issue. Hence the porting team is working on your case to get the issue resolved".

Meanwhile 72 hours later... missing calls, can't make calls, no data, not getting SMS messages for MFA... very annoying  :#

    Don't do it!

I would suggest you are angry with the wrong people, a Voxi to Lebara port would be handled on both donor and recipient side by the Vodafone porting team as Voxi is Vodafone and Lebara is just a Vodafone MVNO. Unfortunately Vodafone are often less than stellar at fixing things when they go wrong.

I have recently transferred from Vodafone Pay Monthly to VOXI. This had to be done via online chat - no new SIM required (as VOXI is part of vodafone).

The actual transfer happened within a few minutes with maybe 1 minute loss of service.

The problem was trying to log into VOXI to then add my payment details. What I found out later - after getting a great rep to help me out via Messenger rather than the VOXI website chat - was that Vodafone created a "subsidiary" account for VOXI on my original Vodafone account.

If the above poster is still having issues - what needs to be done (at least worked for me) - is that the original Vodafone account needs to be completely shut down. THen a new Voxi account set up. Once the rep did that, I was online in a minute, added payment details and all good. Until 28 July, 30GB for £10.

I ported my wife's Giffgaff number to Lebara, all went to plan. My daughter did the same and it went wrong, no outgoing calls or data for 4 or 5 days. Lebara CS was pretty useless, lots of broken promises regarding fix times.

This thread is about porting to Lebara and your comment is off topic. Please start another thread to discuss.

  • I've just ported from Giffgaff to Lebara and now I cannot receive calls.

My last port out and back again through Asda was a right pain....Done 4 over the last couple of months to and from Lebara.

So i ported my number from Lebara to Asda then i tried to port back to Lebara but Asda wouldn't let me do it kept coming up that the port was already going though but it wasn't so in the end after 3 days i contacted Asda and they gave me another code which i then gave to Lebara.
On the next day it went over the Asda sim went of about 10am but took to 5pm before all done and working.
I think i have been lucky because that's the first time i have had any problems porting a number and i have ported loads over the years.

I've done a couple to Lebara and both went without issue. Just follow the golden rule: avoid weekends and bank holidays, and when ordering a new SIM avoid postal strikes

  • Two PACs in the last month. The first transfer appeared to fail as the interim number remained stored in my IPhone settings. Strangely, it resolved itself after an IPhone firmware update. The second port took about 5 hours to complete but was within the stated timescale.
