Question about Monzo

Well CIFAS have gotten back to me already to say they have no data about me which is something.
I've emailed Monese about this decision but I'm not going to waste too much energy on it though. They've pretty much said you can't have one, we're not going to tell you why and our decision is final.0 -
That was amazingly quick. They used to take up to 2 weeks. Not that it helps you further. You could try Chase, they don't do hard credit checks, either. But they have ridiculous wait times of 3-5 weeks for new applications if you don't sail straight through, which must applicants don't seem to now. You do need a 64-bit smartphone for them, and a passport or picture driving licence. They are also licensed as a bank.1

I've applied to Chase but i'm currently in 'the waiting room' which isn't the end of the world as I don't get paid for a few more weeks so that might happen by then. I've also opened an account with Wise as well which was fairly easy so I'll probably wait for the Chase one to fully open and work out which one is the best for me.0 -
Wise are ok for money transfers but they aren't a bank, either.0

Have you tried opening a basic bank account with a high street bank? My Son had one for a while when he couldn’t trust himself with money. His was with Santander but almost all high street banks do them0

I know we're only talking pennies in fees, but I'd rather the transactions be free if I can possible help it.0 -
Your other option is Chase.
The only problem is that they have a backlog of applications as a result of a very successful promotion that ended a couple of weeks ago.

Keeping things 'tidy' has been the bane of my life in that respect.1
