Driving lessons to improve but not improving already have a licence
I had a lesson, as I struggle with huge roads and huge road abouts, and was gona have more but driving instructor said your wasting your money you just need to practice.
So I went to practice today, end up on motway, I was meant to cross across three lanes to end up on right hand side of huge road, unless I miss read it, how am I meant to cross across three lanes.
Even if I was on the right lane I would have been a bit confused in following it.
Is there anyway I can practice in my own car with instructor next to me?

Just ask a driving instructor to give you some motorway lessons BUT it might have to be in their car0

You may already do this, but I have found it useful to follow through complicated junctions that are new to me on google streetview - so I can work out which lane I need to get into when without actually needing to deal with other traffic.

May need to give a link to Google street view of the roundabout and where you came from and where you were going too.sim2335 said:So I went to practice today, end up on motway, I was meant to cross across three lanes to end up on right hand side of huge road, unless I miss read it, how am I meant to cross across three lanes.

As you can see you start of on left lane, you have to otherwise, I wouldn’t have got there unless I’m doing something wrong how on earth you meant to cut across 3 lanes, that’s harder at part but find that whole area confusing.

Why do you start on the left lane? You should have been filtering over to the right hand lane in plenty of time, then you only have to move over one more lane at the junction.0

But seriously if you put on the satnav if will tell you to prepare to turn left or right and will tell you "bear right in 200 yards" or similar, that might help you.0

Yes, there's a roundabout sign back here: https://goo.gl/maps/7QFGpVWDzrSb23Eg8 (assuming that's where the OP came from) so they should already have been in lane 2 there - which then divides into two lanes, either of which would work.pramsay13 said:Why do you start on the left lane? I agree it's a confusing junction, but if it's a regular route you quickly remember which lane is best.0 -
You're in the wrong lane to start with. If you're going right around the roundabout, you should be in the right hand lane on approaching the roundabout. If you're using a satnav or google maps it tells you which lane to be in before you get to the roundabout.0

Many driving instructors will take you out in your own car, they will just want to do a short assessment of your capabilities first.
Our daughter did some lessons with the instructor in his car to get going and then they switched to her car which she took her test in.0 -
The answer is ... one lane at a time. Checking mirrors, signal, lifesaver look over shoulder each time.sim2335 said:So I went to practice today, end up on motway, I was meant to cross across three lanes to end up on right hand side of huge road, unless I miss read it, how am I meant to cross across three lanes.
Complicated, multi-stage moves do take a fair bit of practice. Try going out when the roads are less busy.
We had a (confident driver) US visitor. Indeed a USAF pilot. He got to two adjoined mini roundabouts and got completely confused. He ended up waiting until the road was clear, and accelerating straight over the top. We can all get confused.
