Supermarket trolley parking

soul1 said:Hi, I was the original poster of the thread on trolleys. It was a good forum thread initially, but got a bit nasty due to differing views on the subject. I only really posted about it because I've suffered damage to my car a couple of times because of trolleys and it's really expensive to get it fixed. People who leave the trolleys anywhere and don't put them back in the designated trolley bays within the car park especially at supermarkets etc don't seem to realise this until it happens to them. The supermarkets wash their hands clean of any liability with regards to this due to the multiple signs in their car parks re we are not liable for anything that happens in the car park etc.
The other point that I made in my original thread is that trolleys just left anywhere in the car park could also cause injury to other shoppers if they end up moving due to wind etc.
However I disagree with this to a point as if all trolleys in all supermarkets had a coin system to force customers to return their trolleys back to the designated trolley bays, then this problem would be much less of an issue.
Just my opinion thoughI believe there was really only one poster with a differing view, the one with the ironic user name, they were certainly anything but !You don't see many trolleys floating around the car park in Aldi or Lidl do you ?

Brie said:Must admit I had a go at a young (14yo?) girl in Lidl yesterday. Her younger brother was getting some pain au chocolate and dropped one on the floor. She picked it up and put it back with the others. I told her she couldn't do that and she looked a bit shocked. She picked it out again and didn't know what to do with it so I told her to give it to me as there was a bin right there. So much though for having signs about using tongs!!1

What’s the farthest you have ever travelled in your old age, Southend-on-Sea ? Maybe if you ever get to France one day please try explain to the locals what a chip butty is, It may answer that eternal question why the French are food snobs towards us.
