It's mainly for fascia, so the area isn't big and priority is the quality, not the price.

If you don't mind the price linseed oil paint lasts longer. Takes longer to dry, and the colours aren't so bright. However for a fascia you probably don't want to be up there every few years, and linseed oil paint can be good for 10 years. I've used it on some of my windows.0

Zinsser Allcoat or Sadolin Superdec.0

Bedec's 'Barn' paint? Heard only good things about it, tho' yet to use it myself.

Second Zinsser Allcoat. Water based exterior gloss paint. Very good stuff. Make sure surface is clean, and it generally self-primes, no undercoat required. Seems to be lasting very well so far, much better than the Dulux exterior weathershield (oil based) which was applied arround same time to similar surfaces.0

I used Dulux trade weathershield to do ours six years ago. Still looks as good as it did then.
Prep makes the biggest difference.0 -
Thank you all. Choices, choices...

I'd get some Farrow and Ball because that's what I want to buy anyway but feel it's a bit extravagant. Still want it though. Of course your tastes are not the same as mine but it's just a suggestion. I have never used their products as it's not within my price range. (That's why I'm a member of this forum!)
After seeing the F&B documentary on TV the other week I want it more!
They do paints for all surfaces and some lovely colours too. I'd have red or dark blue . . . mmmmm. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. I was going to refresh our porch surrounds with (white) Dulux Weathershield, but had a look at the Zinsser reviews after reading this thread.
Seems the tinted versions are very highly recommended, but the white is a bit thin and could need several coats.

Back to the Dulux...
Dulux Weathershield water based, on the other hand, which I found to be complete garbage. Even prepared properly, using their primer, undercoat and gloss topcoat, and applied by a professional decorator, it still cracked quickly on a (difficult) window frame. A couple of coats of Zinsser Allcoat still looks great years later.1 -
We painted our garage frame and doors as well as the front door and frame in our last house with Zinnser black and white. Nice to paint with, excellent finish and still looked good when we left 5 years later.1
