Hi sorry to hear about the drawer situation when you’re working hard to get organised. Could you ask them to send you out a replacement drawer then you could either just return the damaged drawer or dispose of it rather than return the whole unit.

You know @Purplelady65, it never occurred to me to ask for the drawer replacement. I'll do that today as it'll be so much easier to manage for everyone. I'm confused by Amazon's chat function, so I might just call the company directly. As I'd rather have a functioning unit than a refund and have to buy a new one.

I went to another Bipolar UK meeting yesterday evening and it was really good to see some people from my other group there too. I'm glad that I've got two check-ins a month now, it will make a big difference. Especially as my routine is all over the place at the moment. But I was given some great tips from the people there on how to try and manage that. So I'm really pleased about that.

The drawer unit refund/exchange still hasn't been sorted, as I've been sleeping on and off throughout the day as I'm having a chronic fatigue syndrome flare up. I've done too much activity recently and it's come back to bite me. I got too cocky as I've not needed my walking stick or crutches as much recently. So I did it to myself really. But I need to rest some more as I am driving a couple of hours out of London on Friday morning. Me and my mum are going on a spa break weekend that she has treated me to. I'm very excited about it. I'm not so much a fan of spa breaks anymore, as they get tiring with being in the water and all that jazz. But this one gives us access to range of spa facilities including a heat and ice experience, that has sauna and steam room etc and a hydrotherapy pool and a solarium plus some ice cold cauldron type thing I've no intention of stepping near. My flared up joints will be angry with me if I do that. Anyways, we also get some kind of head massage, a buffet lunch, cream tea, a 3 course dinner, overnight stay and breakfast. We're going for two nights which is nice. So we're back on Sunday. I suspect my son and his girlfriend will be excited to see the back of me so that they can pretend that they've got their own flat for the weekend 😂.

The plus side of being on enforced bed rest, is that I have had time to really think about life. I'm no closer to being ready to actually return to work, I'm not ready to study the bookkeeping to start working for myself, nor am I fully content with not having much to do. But I'm slowly starting to embark upon a mental equilibrium of sorts. I've started thinking about what kind of work I could do, what I need from a working environment and what kind of salary I would need. I'm still figuring it out, but I definitely need a blend of a logical based role that is operational/strategic in some aspects as well as something that allows me to be creative. So I might find a part time strategic type role that allows me autonomy over my workload, and freelance with something creative that I can dip in and out of.

I also figured out my budget properly (finally, right? 🥴). I had a moment of clarity and so my plans are not as delulu as they once was. So my Sunday Summary will have slightly different goals, but they have a higher chance of coming to fruition. I was trying to do too much, but I think I have a better balance now. But I might not be able post about that until the Monday as it depends on how tired I will be once I get back to London on Sunday afternoon.

Thanks @beanielou and @Baileys_Babe, I'm going to pack this afternoon after my nap. My carer is on her way and I'm going to ask her to help me wash my hair (I can't remember who suggested it, but thank you very much).

A part of me is getting a bit worried about the job market. There's so many people I know that have been job hunting for a while, and not getting interviews. And they have good work experience. I'm not sure if it is the type of role or job level that they are going for as they are moving up in their careers, or if it is the job market in general. But my son has no work experience aside from that which he did at school or college, and so I'm not sure how hard he's going to find things when he's seriously job hunting. He was looking at retail jobs initially, but he's having trouble with his knees post op, so I don't know if he would be able to manage that for hours on end. But he definitely needs to find something. He's finishing college in a few months, so he needs to get himself sorted.

Enjoy your weekend away Keedie. All of your worries about the job market are perfectly normal. All I can say is that I know countless people who have left my place of work and found a whole new World out there. We are ALL very good at overthinking and possibly catastrophising. I am sure I would be just the same as you, but have faith. You will be just fine.
Also, with your unexpected windfall you are miles ahead of where you might otherwise have been.
