Yes, these late night financial manoeuvres can go awry at times @Cherryfudge 🤣. Argos Card said that if they've been unable to match a payment to an account after 16 calendar days, then they send it back to the account that made the transaction. So I've got to wait. The £18 should be back around Christmas time and the £93 around New Year's time. That'll teach make decisions in the dead of night, but not to process anything until the morning. Oh well.
I think you're right about the stress @KajiKita and the immune system, as I had a bad flare up as a result of all the stress at work. So yes, hopefully once I'm out of there, my body can relax and my mind too.
I like looking at my resignation as an early Christmas present, so thanks for that Cherryfudge. And yes @AntoMac, I most definitely will not be regretting it. I've no clue exactly what I will be doing, but I have every faith in the universe that I will land on my feet.
In other news, I've been trying to go back to cash spending, and it's meant that I have change again to put in my pots. So I PADded £3.07 today.
I've done some more tweaking to the budget, and I have now managed to add holiday savings, and it's still £225 over (due to the estimated £225 monthly care costs). But this version allows me to save for a holiday. I'll need to side hustle that £225 a month, but this version is definitely better.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Thanks @LittleMissDetermined that's really kind of you to say and @beanielou, it's been a good day because I have no work to do and I've been listening to Kisstory online through my headphones on the laptop. I've had a good work week. I managed to say goodbye to some people that I really enjoyed working with over the last 6 years and we had a little tea party yesterday in place of our team meeting. Today, I've been saving all of the emails and documents as evidence should I choose to make a claim against my employers. The thought of doing that isn't appealing, as I think it would cost me too much to do so, but it's nice to have it as insurance if nothing else.
I'm also drafting an email to my Deputy Director to let her know that she needs to pay closer attention to how things are being managed in my service. My line manager is on a power trip and she's making life unnecessarily hard for people. I've spoken to quite a few people over the last few days and the running theme is the same: I'm the first to jump ship, but I won't be the last. I think the fact that I have left work with no job to go to or any savings has made people realise that there is a whole world out there and they don't have to stay and be abused and mistreated.
I finish at 3.30pm, as I have to hand my equipment back and I'm so excited. Just over an hour to go - yippee!!!Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

It must be quite reassuring for you that you’re not alone in how you feel and are being treated. Although that’s not a great situation for any of you to be in! What I guess I mean is, it’s not you, it’s the management!XxLife gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017Sealed pot 2025 £6573 | EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3364/£6000 | Travel savings £1508 | Sinking pots £25713

Ooh, the final countdown, how exciting. I know when I left the job that was causing me grief, I was just so elated, and like you, didn't have another job to go to. But it all will fall into place very soon for you, I'm sure. Being happy is more important than slogging yourself to death for someone else and then suddenly realising your life is over before you have done anything. I believe things will always sort themselves out and you will be where you are supposed to be in life. xMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Financial assessments was my job until March, not sure how your LA works but ours don't include wages as income. So you may want to double check the breakdown before asking for a review. As the more you get in benefits the more you contribute usually. Very backwards way of looking at it I know. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions or want a 2nd opinion.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200

I hope you're now enjoying the freedom, though I suppose it may take a little while to recover! So nice that you were able to talk to those you're friendly with and leave in an upbeat way.
You made a cracking good decision there, missus.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

"People don't leave jobs, they leave managers".This is so true & seems to be happening more & more. Many young people who had been working a few years & then worked from home because of Covid & then had to go back into work afterwards seem to have stopped working. I become more convinced that this is because they had spent time taking **** from a manager & then worked from home & had little contact & just got on with the job & then went back to the **** & decided they couldn't cope. It was the break from it that made them realise it was unacceptable. My exH once told me that his manager at the time had been promoted out of trouble because they couldn't get rid of him, it makes you wonder how much that is true now. Especially if they are in an area where jobs are scarce.3

Peter Principle innit- people keep getting promoted until they're in a job they can't do and then stay there making things miserable for everyone else as there's nowhere else for them to go
