In the end of year waste of police time news report, we will see "a woman called because she didn't like her second hand sofa" ..

It is difficult with second hand items. I always dread selling them for these reasons, and have learned that for any item that isn't *really cheap*, I do need the buyer to come and look first. I have a horsebox and can offer delivery of larger items as long as people don't mind it smelling of ... err horse.

I really can’t do with the stress of any of this!
What stress? Something is only stressful if you let it be...

You sold a 2 year old sofa described exactly as it was (good condition for a 2 year old sofa), and what the buyer described doesn't match your description, so either they are lying to get a discount, or the courier damaged it. Not your problem.

Ignore them. They wouldn't stand a chance in court.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I think the OP is stressed  and worried because they have been blocked rather than being the first to block and ignore and the last thing that was more or less said was the threatening of police action as well as the purchaser having the OPs address I guess?

The purchaser sounds like a chancer trying to pulll a fast one.  Please do not let this worry you Ana, the onus is on them now.  They should have inspected the item prior to purchase instead of acting like the money was burning a hole in their pocket!

If you're REALLY stressed then refund them after they've returned it in the same condition as you sold it.

Depends how much your stress is worth.

    Did you get other enquiries/offers?

PS I'm not saying you should accept a return - their "consumer rights" are clearly zero as everyone else has pointed out.
