Selling Gold Jewellery

I bookmarked Hatten Garden Precious Metals after reading the above posts.
They are not giving as good a rate as the jewellers I mention above so even if you are in the London area don't automatically assume that HGPM give the best rate.
Do your research.
My research showed that a jeweller local to me was offering more than £1 per gram more than HGPM.1 -
Like Pollycat says always shop around. Years ago we took some old jewellery to two local 'cash for gold places' and the difference between the two was huge. In hindsight wish I had kept it lol.
Some may even offer more than scrap value if they can resell it as a piece of jewellery rather than scrap

When we took ours we did have a nice surprise. My mom had a weird little coin in a mount that had been stuffed in the bottom of a drawer - it looked like a gold coloured penny. Turned out to be a half Sovereign which we kept.
