Multiple flight cancellations

Sitting here in Amsterdam airport making my third attempt to fly home since Saturday. Our original flight cancelled at checkin, and our replacement flight yesterday cancelled while we were travelling to the airport.

My question is that although I understand I am entitled to cancellation compensation under the old rules on the first flight, would I be entitled to claim the same for the rebooked and cancelled flight as well?

If so it would go some way to mitigate my wife’s two days loss of earnings or holiday depending on which way she plays it.

Do the orange airline have wiggle room to get out of it? The extra hotel costs will I’m sure be subject to a separate claim, which I’m sure they’ll try and refuse, but I’m initially referring to the statutory payments for cancelled/delayed flights

The right to compensation is dependent on the circumstances of the cancellation, i.e. the extent to which it was within the airline's control, but if each flight was cancelled for qualifying reasons then I can't see any reason for one claim per cancelled flight not to be honoured.
