How would I go about getting a recording of call with Wizz Air?

My flight was cancelled 3 hours prior to departure. I called their helpline on the piece of paper that was handed out to us by staff at Gatwick. The person on the phone said the next flight they could move me to was in three days time, which wasn't acceptable given my return flight was in six days time and would essentially make my holiday pointless. They offered me a refund for the outbound flight and before accepting I specifically asked whether or not accepting a refund would impact me claiming a refund for a new flight that I was about to purchase. The person on the phone said no, and so I accepted the offer of a refund and bought a flight with a different airline for the next day.
After coming home and reading the various articles online it seems clear that you can either have your flight refunded or request that the airline purchase you a second flight, but not both.
I have already sent a request for compensation due to the cancellation (€400) which I am waiting on a response. I have a reference number for the call that I made and I'd like a copy of it to try and claim back the £338 I spent on a new flight under the impression that they would refund me. I'm guessing that this will be difficult and that they will probably weasel their way out of it one way or another, but it's worth a shot.
Is there a specific way to request such a recording? Their online complaints form doesn't fill me with confidence but after calling them for a second time they assured me that was the only way.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you can request all your data (including call recordings) through Subject Access Request, although I am no expert.1

Under these circumstances it sounds as if you might be due compensation as well. Read MSE's Flight delay compensation guide for more on this.1

Thanks. Yes, that is the compensation I have already applied for an am expecting to receive. I was hoping I could also get compensated for the new flight that I purchased but really need a recording of the phone call I had with Wizz Air.

you will not be able to claim refunds of both flightsThe difference in the new flight if possible, although I'm guessing unlikely despite the advise I recieved directly from Wizz. The initial Wizz flight cost me £70 which is what they are refunding me, and the cheapest outgoing flight I could find within 24 hours that was at a reasonable time and was direct cost £338.0
