Winter blackouts

I'm not worried about myself; wood burning stove with flat top, camping stove, wood burning pizza oven if desperate.. but my ageing parent in an all electric flat would suffer. Being local I could rush round with freshly topped up hot water bottles and thermos' but it wouldn't be an ideal situation.

Hopefully the cost of fuel and an appeal to common sense would reduce demand - let alone industry on interruptible supplies being er.. interrupted! Over the last few years peak demand has actually gone down so apart from late evening postings on internet forums I'm not worried..
