Had to pick DC2 up from nursery early yesterday and take him to A&E (nursery were concerned enough to suggest it so I did) - another sort of respiratory thing and a very high temperature. Calpol/nurofen and an uncomfortable night for me (not so much that he woke up but more I was half awake listening out for him) - exhausted today. He had a bit of a temp this morning so gave a shot of calpol but he now seems fine. Should be able to go to nursery tomorrow - phew.
I had planned on doing a get fit with rick workout today but was so shattered I just watched Law and Order SVU and Silent Witness whilst DC2 slept.
Tomorrow am planning (as long as he is in nursery) to do second run from C25K.
I've definitely reduced the eating (though DH made battered courgette frites tonight from a courgette he had harvested from the garden(!)) and day 3 of no alcohol. Was tempted by a glass last night after getting back from A&E but managed to abstain.
When DH got home tonight I had a soak in the bath. I bought some radox the other day - proud of self for that as was 2 for £2 and not that long ago I'd have spent a fortune on a bottle of bubble bath just so it would "impress" people if they saw it in the bathroom - glad I am over that most of the time now.
DC1 shouted me into the lounge just before bedtime to tell me he had a poo in his hand. So he had managed to poo into his hand (or on the floor and pick it up) - delightful.
Off up to bed in a sec in the hope of a good night's sleep and feeling more joyous tomorrow.
Not spent anything today but DH has on some house/garden supplies. This month is not going well spending wise again, but I am conscious that a lot of what we are spending (other than on food) is stuff which would need to be spent on the house at some point anyway.3 -
I also spent a few hours in A&E yesterday but with my hubby rather than a child. Also exhausted. Have spent many hours with my kids in A&E in the past. Glad your DS is better now, they are a worry but thankfully recover quickly.
😫 to the 💩in the hand. Bless him 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -

Did my second C25K run this morning! Really didn't want to go but forced self out of door and glad I did. Finding it tough, probably because I'm carrying much more weight than usual too, but I keep telling myself the start is the toughest and that once I get into it, it will get easer.
Got 3l of milk on way back so £4.65 (milk v expensive where I am for new readers!) but shouldn't need to spend anything else today.
Dinner is salmon from freezer, some sort of carbs and some veg from garden (whatever is ready).
DC2 is in nursery thankfully so have been able to work today which is a relief.
Had a decent night's sleep last night - think they woke once but went back to sleep quickly - up at 5.54 with them though!
Not done any work on book this week but working on trying to get sleep sorted this week then will start setting an alarm to try and get up early next week before kids wake to do some work on it.
DH and I were supposed to be going out for our anniversary next Sat but we have decided to stay home and cook here instead, 3 courses. Mainly because we just can't be bothered going out and just think that we will have a better time at home. Our actual anniversary is Tuesday so we might also get a take away/posh ready meal for that night too.
We are just over our reduced budget for this month (with nw budget starting on 20th) - I normally set a budget each month but then a second "reduced" budget to see if we can save a bit more. But even if we slide within the normal budget we won't be able to save that much as we are having the playroom carpeted. I suppose this was all stuff we were going to incur anyway so as long as the savings needle nudges up a little then it's not a disaster.
Hoping next month will be better as we currently don't have any socialising plans bar MIL's birthday.2 -
Glad DC is ok again. What is it with children and their own poo???? Sorry that did make me laugh though .... only because I don't have little kids anymore. Mind you one of the cats had a fur ball early this morning - retching and heaving very loudly and then puking as if they needed to regurgitate a giant eagle. Cat left the furball on my bedroom floor and took themselves back off to sleep for 8 hours til they decided it was dinner time.
would it help to properly separate out your day to day spends from your house renovations spends? Sometimes it's disheartening to be trying hard and doing well on one aspect of the budget and then for it to be disrupted by spending on the house. Might also help OH to know what was in the house pot each month?
well done on running and no alcohol. I was tempted by wine last night but resisted. So halos for both of us. The lovely Rick does a 7 minute 1000 step workout which I did today between meetings - I like that I feel like I've achieved some exercise in such a short amount of time.

Hi guys. Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Lots going on and just exhausted. Not really kept up with anyone's diaries either so need to put some time aside to do that.
Needless to say, fitness, no booze, healthy eating and no spending have gone right out the window.
No inspiration to write anything at the moment - another poorly household, finding it tough and just hoping to get back to some sense of normality soon.
Lots of love x2 -
Sorry to hear things are tough right now. I hope things improve soon. Just do what it takes to get your head in the right place and take care of yourself.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
