    With respect, you are not the engineer. Let them do their bit and it could be a different fault. Most washing machies break down at least a couple of times within 5 years. We look after our items and more often than not the washing machine breaks down & after 5 years we get a new one. Bosch or any make for that matter IMO is not what they used to be 10/15 years ago.

    Did you tell them re your daughter as this would often get you the engineers asap.

    If when you get a new washing machine, you could end up with different problems.

    What is the problem with the machine and what did they do last time

    Really? Not a problem we have had with the two we have had in last 10 years (one in a rental and then our own as rental was just a cheap Beko)

    I'd be very disappointed if my machine broke a few times in five years.
    Our Miele washer dryer is in its 15th year.  We’ve never had to call anyone out in that time.

    I would say you have been incredibly unlucky.

    We are on our fourth machine.
    - our first one, Hoover, was second hand but lasted us 4 years (it was still going when we moved house and left it behind);
    - the second one , Hotpoint, lasted 11 years (and we only parted with it because we were moving house again and it would not have fitted in with the colour scheme - apparently, although I may have been conned);
    - the third one, another Hotpoint, lasted just over 16 years before it decided to throw a leg out of bed (sounded like someone was playing lambeg drums in our house, so it got scrapped)
    - our current one, Samsung, is now over 6 years old and hasn't missed a beat

    Not once have we had to call a repair engineer out for any of those machines.

    Now lawnmowers are different kettle of fish, I have no idea what SWMBO does to them but they are lucky to last 3-4 years in our house.
    I don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!

    Appliances sometimes break down - you need to plan for that. You’ll either need to wash things by hand or use a friend’s while yours is fixed.
    Realistically you can’t expect an immediate fix because of your circumstances.
    Their repair policy seems fair enough to me - stuff breaks, and they’ll fix it for you. It might just take a few days which you need to deal with yourself.
