Hi,
Totally unsure about this.
I have tried going through my banking app and pay the tradesman using my credit card but there isn't an option to do so. He hadn't got a card machine.
He gave me his account number and sort code.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Ask your tradesman.Be prepared for him to say he doesn’t take credit cards (In my experience, most don’t)0

You can’t pay him using your credit card if he does not have the facilities to take credit cards.3

If he's given you his account number and sort code then pay him by bank transfer.2

If you pay by bank transfer you have no protection like s75 or chargeback

It's all a bit academic if he doesn't accept credit card payment. Presumably they've had the service he provided so unless they aren't happy with that work what protection do they need? He did the work and should rightly now be paid for it.marcia_ said:If you pay by bank transfer you have no protection like s75 or chargeback2 -
Some credit cards offer 'money transfers' that can be used to pay money to a bank account (sort code + account number). It's basically the same as a cash advance unless there is some offer in place like, say, 0% for X months (with some fee for the transfer).Needless to say that there is no s.75 protection in this case if it's what the OP wanted.2

So how can the OP get protection if the tradesman has no card reader? You can now see what you have said does not add up.marcia_ said:If you pay by bank transfer you have no protection like s75 or chargeback0 -
Can you point out where the OP has asked for s75 protection on their post?diystarter7 said:
