Vodafone price increase April 2022

Options
I wonder if I can get some help from the forum.
I got a deal with Vodafone's broadband during Black Friday (the offer was 900 Mb for
£30).
In line with the Consumer Price Index rate (“CPI Rate”)(
The applicable CPI Rate is 5.4%) plus an additional 3.9% came into effect this April.

Vodafone calculations are that the 9.3% increase should be on the "normal price" of £70 (and then applying a discount), rather than my "billing price" of £30
My believe is that it should be on the actual billing rather than "the original line rental of £70 "

While the difference is small, I feel this to be a matter or principle.

Any views?

Many thanks all!

It tells you here at the bottom of this page that your discount is applied after CPI+3.9% changes:

And that's what you agreed would happen when you joined Vodafone in the first place.  If you didn't read your T&Cs properly in the first place, that's your bad.

  • Thanks.
I do not have an issue with the increase....all do it.

I guess my issue was that I was interpreting the T&Cs on the fact that the increase would be on the MONTHLY BILL (£30) rather than how it has been calculated (based on the £70).

"If your plan started from 11 August 2021:

    • Your agreement provides for an increase in your monthly bill effective each April as well as an increase on your out of bundle charges, based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI rate) plus 3.9%"

The monthly bill is going to be whatever you're charged before any discounts are applied.
