Monkey off your back now. However, if you intend using the pub again, I'd write to them saying that their staff were remiss in not informing you of the car park requirements which has cost you £20 when all you were innocently doing was bringing your custom to the pub. Ask them to credit it to you against the cost of a future drinks/meals visit.iftttnewbie said:Thanks for all your help. I just paid the £20 PCN fee for what it's worth. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You could certainly still tell the pub that this experience has driven you away and are they prepared to make a goodwill gesture as you were stung for £20 and will tell all your friends.
Also that they can of course kick the PPC out, as has happened at Lichfield:

No need for any PPC infesting a pub car park. It just drives custom away.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
