why do you even 'need' a ring doorbell? I mean... just why?
It allows me to avoid the near constant attempts of chuggers!
Yes, but for the price of £34.99...  :)

If you don't use the storage it only costs the purchase price.  I have one without the subscription so it "rings" on my phone when I'm in my garden office, as I couldn't hear the house doorbell while working and it was easier than running another cable out there for a second bell.

  • Another huge increase... £3.49 to £4.99 a month. Ridiculous costs now, looks like time to cancel subscription.
  • Got email today announcing another price increase. When I purchased the doorbell two years ago it was £24.99 for basically a recording plan, £34.99 last year and increasing to an absolutely mental £49.99 this year. No chance I’m paying that.

Twitter...oops I mean X....is aflame with people disgusted with Ring's price gouging - not surprising as there is no justification for it.  I shall be cancelling my subscription before the next renewal.  Hopefully some of the rivals will do some good deals to attract people away and Ring will realise they've gone too far this time.

Alfred camera phone app will be getting an influx of people then. I wrote about that on another thread today, so check that out if you can. It's only £30 a year total and you can use it on one of your old phones with your wifi.

Let's hope Alfred don't put their prices up now that Ring have done!
