Ring camera / doorbell plan price increase..aka unjustified rip off

Anybody else had an email from Ring today to say they are increasing the basic protect plan by 40% from £24.99 to £34.99 from July with some so-called extra features that quite frankly aren't worth a bean to most people (i.e. 180 instead of 30 days video storage, the ability to download 50 clips at one time). Absolute rip off in my view. They should have introduced another tier with increased pricing if people wanted such features, but I suspect there wouldn't be much uptake.
It was already bad enough they charged £25 a year to store a few video clips which doesn't use a lot of cloud storage I suspect ( especially given Apple for example let you buy 50gb storage for 79p a month). Going to have to seriously consider cancelling the plan, even though it then leaves it as a pretty crippled product. No wonder people are drawn to other makes that provide a bit of cloud storage for free and/or include a SD card facility.

That's the problem with the subscription based services. The very reason I went with Blurams for my doorbell - Offer 3 days rolling free cloud storage.

Which is why a system with SD card facilities as well as cloud option is the best bet....Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Hi everyone. I feel just as aggrieved by this price increase. It seems a very greedy thing to do given that we brought the hardware outright and now being stung with a price hike. I am thinking about my options here; does anyone know if the Eufy 2k doorbell will be able to use the ring doorbell transformer and wiring? I went to quite some effort last year to hide the wiring in the wall and it would be nice to think that I could do a simple swap.0

Suits me too and I don’t even have it installed! Now I don’t have to take in my neighbours amazon parcels, they just tell the courier to chuck it over the back garden fence.

And a further 43% increase today. Bloody annoying. Are there any alternatives with similar functionality ?0
