Charge or refund for missed fight?

Hi all

It's probably been answered elsewhere but I can't find it using my phone to search - apologies.

I have to cut my family holiday short due to a work issue. The rest of them get to stay another three days.

I've booked a replacement fight, but given that we've already checked in for the original return, what should I do, and when?

I doubt they'll refund me the original flight and I don't want my partner to get hit with a single occupancy surcharge at the hotel (it's all inclusive, but you never know).

Do the rest of them just turn up at the original time and tell the airline at the bag drop, or is there a correct way to do this?

So long as you are not expecting and money back then no further action required by you or the other members in the party.

By all means have the family tell the staff at checkin but it’s not an issue.

There will be no recosting of your holiday if this already commenced and you just left early.

I'd also go with no action required in this case.

You're using a flight that you have decided to purchase, the hotel remains available for your use.

There should be no issue here, and assuming you have not requested a refund, it's unlikely the hotel will even know you've gone.
