We took advice and have been told the request for the additional money is a breach of contract under common law, as the documents were agreed and signed.
So if you have taken advice, why have you come here disagreeing with the advice given so far?

@Sunny_smiles best of luck with that.

You have a camera which you acknowledge you ordered but have not paid for.

On that basis, remove it and give to them.

So who gave you the advice that you don't need to pay the £700?

I would just like to understand my position under law and their position under law, because if we are in dispute then there should be rules/terms by which this would be clear on next steps

Did you not notice the dashcam or £700 was missing from the revised contract? Presuming you looked over them as you did the first contract and noticed the clearview mirror was missing.
Did you not query why the cost had gone down £700?

no i did not notice, the first car order form included the deduction of the deposit and the second did not include this, so i did not go through the list of items, but the figure was about £10 difference and they told me it was due to the RFL, they sent me about 15 forms to sign and i was under pressure to get this done and pay them, otherwise they would not be able to register the car ready for collection two days later.
