Hi, I've had a return flight to London Stansted with Ryanair cancelled for 'commercial reasons'. I was due to return from France at the end of July with a connecting UK internal flight the same evening (easyjet).
I have managed to change my flight to a day earlier with Ryanair but now need 1 nights overnight accommodation in London or another connecting flight. Am I entitled to claim the costs of hotel accommodation in London/another connecting flight?

I very much doubt there would be any such entitlement as your flights were not 'connecting' in the sense of a through connection on one ticket. You might be covered for the extra expense by travel insurance, if you have it.
 Evolution, not revolution1

you carry the risk on separate tickets'
More than 14 days notice given on cancellation so no compensation. Your separately booked 'connection' is of no concern to Ryanair
You could compare the costs of changing your Easyjet flight to the costs of overnight stay and select which is best1

A new story which may be useful:

It talks about Easyjet and Tui, but the rules about notice apply across the board.0
