Never heard of Macaroni pud but I love Yorkie puds with syrup, with maple syrup its even better!
Oooo, with raspberry vinegar on top, that sounds like heaven! My mom was always given a bottle of raspberry vinegar by my nan to dilute & heat up for when we had coughs, seemed to work & tasted DELICIOUS, such a great drink for a cold winters day!You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -

I love cheese with rich fruit cake; it has to be a mild cheese like lancashire, wensleydale or caerphilly. My grandad always used to have cheese with his apple pie, but as I don't like apple pie, I stick to the cheese.
However - weird families. Last night I asked my boys what they wanted for tea - they could choose. They both settled on sausage sandwiches.....
and grapes........on the same plate!! :eek:0 -
Wow! So what did I serve my lot for pudding today? Macaroni! And that was before I saw this thread!
My son is 20 now, & thinks it's normal (but I've always cooked all the various milk puddings over the years - love 'em, cheap, & a good use of oven space too!)
Anyone for Semolina!!? Yum!:mad: :j:D:beer::eek::A:p:rotfl::cool::):(:T0 -
ooh I can remember macaroni pudding - lovely! And yorkshires with jam and crea or evaporated milk!
Raspberry vinegar is great - I found it actually cured tonsillitus when I was a teenager - I remember making it with my gran, (who is now ninety two) might have to check the recipe with her and make some for coughs and colds! I seem to remember it was made by bunging a load of raspberries in a glass bowl, covering with white vinegar, stirring once a day every day for 5 days, then straining and heating in a pan with some sugar to make it into a syrup (maybe a pint of vinegar to a pound of sugar?) then bottling.0 -
Funny you should mention sweet macaroni milk pudding, because I was only thinking about last week.
It was made in the same way as rice pudding, but with macaroni! You could buy it tinned at one time. It was made with the little rings like in speghetti hoops.
Lovely!0 -
we used to have pasta with sugary,buttery poppy seed topping - yum yum!0
