Cannot get £400 rebate on electric
We rent a bungalow in the Landlord's grounds. We pay rent separately.
We have an old-fashioned meter and we take readings monthly and pass them to the Landlord because he has the "Main Meter" and bill in his name and we pay for electricity separately on the rate he has fixed with the electricity board.
He will get the £400 and we will get nothing. How is this fair?
"Every household will get a £400 rebate"?
Any suggestions of what we can do? I also know of a few people renting who are in the same boat.
thanks

Are you on friendly terms with your landlord?
Unless you have a separate electricity bill from an energy supplier in your name and address you won't get the £400
That said technically a landlord cannot make any money on electricity supply and it's a bit of a grey area but a discussion is a good way to start.
At this point I don't think the landlord has to but no harm asking.1 -
Is your landlord on a business or domestic tariff? If it's the former, he won't be getting the £400 either.0

Good point @GingerTim0

Are you paying a standing charge or just for the KWh?

You won't get it - your landlord (the account holder) will.
There is nothing you can do about it apart from asking your landlord if they are prepared to give you some of it.0
