Hi i have just opened a chase bank account for the savings account 1.5% easy access i wanted to put £60,000 in but i am worried that when you read the reviews people are having trouble getting their savings out and i would need this instantly for a house deposit, after reading the reviews I'm a little concerned about doing this.  What are your views on this thanks
Just adding to all the other similar comments - I've had no issues at all moving money in or out.

I attempted to withdraw 5K yesterday from my account to my Halifax account which I have sent a small amount to before as a tester and Chase have put it on hold, it states this could hold the payment up for a few hours, that was 20 hours ago.
    Not happy with that.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

It's worth calling them if you want to get it released. The first large payment to a new destination may be held for fraud checks. It should be released by the end of Monday at the latest without your intervention.

This happens with all new accounts, in the past year I’ve had it with, Chase, Ford money, Atom bank, Tandem, Raisin and Skipton.
Its caused by your own bank and security checks.
A pain in the rear but that’s the way it goes.
Call your bank an complain, I’ve had 3 goodwill gestures from First Direct as they said money was sent.
But was on hold for fraud check, they did not call me about it. So I kept calling them and told them I was loosing money and wanted to be reimbursed and they did, Quite well in fact.

    For Interest

I placed an online order with a major UK retailer the other day for around £45.
I got the pop up to approve the payment via chase app. Realised I didn't have enough money in the current account and then thought I'd just not bother with the purchase. So I declined the payment.
Got two emails from retailer telling me there was a problem and order couldn't go through - fair enough- ignored it.
2 days later (there was now plenty money in the account), the payment had been taken and has gone through. Cashback has tracked.
I never approved this payment at any point!

I'm take the items either way but doesn't seem 'right' or secure!
I will report it to chase.

    Just thought I'd share here

    Edit: corrected typos

Makes a mockery of "Authorise payment " feature really then 🤷‍♂️

I've never had it happen to me, yet.

What is the status of the payment, 'Pending' or 'Complete'?

I also had payments to new payees held by Chase. It‘s a royal pain since they don‘t seem to release them with any urgency but you can call them to have them released. Only trouble is that you are held in the calling Q for at least 30 minutes. Don’t try Chat, as they take many hours, or even days, to respond on Chat, and all they do then is say they are passing your request “to the team which deals with it”.

When you eventually get through on the phone, all they ask in my experience is why you are making the payment. A non-committal “it’s a payment I have to make to my account at the xyz Bank” seems to satisfy them. It’s ridiculous, as the payment has already been authorised by me, after I logged in with FaceID, so it’s clear the payment has been made by me, and I had already specified it was going to another account of mine. Mind you, Chase isn’t the only bank making such annoying checks.

    Complete.

Interestingly I note the retailer had refunded a small amount related to an item they didn't have in stock.
Wonder if that's part of why the payment went through.
    Interesting either way
