MyJar Payday Loan

I’ve recently received an e-mail from Harrison’s who are acting as administrators for payday loan company MyJar. They’re returning interest payments to those who’ve taken out loans in the past. I’m looking for reassurance that this is all legit

I also received an e-mail from them yesterday but it went to junk... I'm currently waiting for a reply from Harrisons to query if it's legitimate as I hadn't applied for redress from my loans but will happily apply if it's genuine.
  • I have also received an email on myjar
As I have used them in the past. I did a Google search and discovered a firm called Harrisons who seam to be dealing with it so I have emailed them for confirmation this is legitimate.
  • Please see the debt camel website

    https://debtcamel.co.uk/payday-loan-refunds/

    They state:

If the lender has gone into administration, including Myjar, Piggybank, Ferratum, Oakam:
    • you can make a claim to the administrators  – there is normally have a simple form for you to complete, see the lender’s website for details – but there will be a time limit for doing this.
    • you may not get much cash back but this is very easy to do. A balance may be reduced or cleared even if there is no cash to distribute. And if you win the complaint any negative marks on your credit record will be removed.
As the administrators have contacted you that would suggest it is legitimate - see their website:

Please note, per the administrators report, you would be looking at 1-2p in the pound of your claim

    How is Redress calculated

    For customers who qualify for redress, we have used the industry standard principles;

    1. A refund of all fees and charges, including interest paid.
    2. An 8% simple interest from the dates the payments were made

PLEASE NOTE THAT IN THE FIRST INSTANCE THE BALANCE OF YOUR LOAN WILL BE REDUCED. IF AFTER YOUR BALANCE HAS BEEN REDUCED THERE REMAINS A BALANCE DUE TO YOU OR YOU HAD ALREADY SETTLED YOUR LOAN AND YOU QUALIFY FOR REDRESS, BY VIRTUE OF THE AGREEMENT REACHED WITH MYJAR TREASURY, YOU WILL BE ENTITLED TO RECEIVE A PAYMENT TOWARDS YOUR CLAIM.

ANY PAYMENT IN RESPECT OF YOUR CLAIM WILL BE EXTREMELY MINIMAL AND ONLY A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE OF YOUR TOTAL CLAIM, YOU CAN EXPECT BETWEEN 1 AND 2 PENCE IN THE £. THIS IS DUE TO THERE BEING INSUFFICIENT FUNDS TO PAY CLAIMS IN FULL GIVEN THE VOLUME AND VALUE OF ALL CUSTOMER CLAIMS.

The link being insecure is not proof of it being a spoof.

Harrisons are the appointed administrator for myjar loans and are dealing with the refunds, such as they are. If you want to ignore it, that is your prerogative but please don't spread false information that might discourage others from getting their money.

Here is the FCA site showing they were appointed

    MyJar site confirms the same

Here is an HTTPS link to Harrisons with the details confirming same phone number

Sorry I work in IT. if its http and they want bank details it's a 99% scam of shoddy work. Either way don't give your bank details over ab unsecured connection especially when it says its secure
