Talk talk contract up, to stay with them or move to BT for an extra £2 per month with extra bonuses?

Options
I'm currently with Talk talk broadband and there giving me 18 month contract fixed fee now for £28 a month. Fibre 65 package has the Estimated Highest Download 73.6 , Lowest Download 66.2 and Minimum Guaranteed Download 59.6.

Have spoke with BT who are offering Fibre 2 package £29.99 per month (activation fee and delivery charge are FREE), on a 24 month contract, fixed price with free hub, no installation fees.  BT offering an estimated download speed of 74 Mbps and an estimated upload speed of 20 Mbps
* Our Stay Fast Guarantee
* Online cloud storage 1000GB
* 6 months FREE subscription to BritBox TV
* Internet protection and security (FREE McAfee antivirus)
* As well as unlimited and immediate access to over 5 million BT Wi-Fi hotspots to use when you're out and about.

Oh decisions, to stay with Talk Talk or move to BT for extra £2 per month?

Comments

  • Lots more alternatives paying cashback/incentives which will bring the price down
  • If you're happy with the service you get and it's fast enough for you then I would stay where you are.

    The BT benefits are only benefits if you will use them. So unless you're actually wanting the Britbox subscription and need to use WiFi when out an about instead of your phone data then it's just an increased expense.

    I personally would stay with Talk-talk from what you've stated above, but I wouldn't use any of the 'benefits'

    On pure cost stay.

    Do you want to watch anything on Britbox?  If not then that is worthless.  The offer of McAfee is worthless as Windows has perfectly good security built in.  If you have plenty of mobile data for your needs then do you really need Wi-Fi hotspot access?.

    If I was in this situation I would stay as the extras offered by BT are not worth anything to me so I would be paying more for the same service.

    You mention fixed fee and fixed price, are either BT or Talk talk offering no price rise next April?

    If not then stick with what's working if you don't really need those "extras".

    Both BT & Talk Talk said the price is fixed for the contract and will remain the same price.  Think I'll just stay with Talk talk as probably not even use the extras with BT.

    I would do neither and switch to a cheaper provider if £28 is the best Talk Talk are offering. I'm with BT and currently pay just under £22 a month for that package after recent price increases and they weren't the absolute cheapest.

    But try haggling with Talk Talk first and use other deals only as leverage.
