Hi Brian, the cap is regionally variable but the following link will give you a good idea most follow EDF deemed tariff rates
Maybe the OP is with EDF let's see when they return what is it a 1 in 8 chance?0 -

There are some massive variations with E7.For example, EDF's Day / Night kWh rates in the East Midlands are 35.28p and 13.40p, but Octopus's are 30.00p and 20.70p.0

That are the E7 rates for EDF, and unlike single rates they are not the same as other supplier's E7 rates.
Supplier are allowed to set a ratio on day to night use, and from that ratio the price for the rates is calculated.
Different suppliers use different ratios, 60:40 or 70:30 for example, so the unit prices for day and night rates will be different.
So depending how much energy you use in total, and what percentage there might be a different cost depending who your supplier is.
A bit useless in reality as only EDF and Octopus will even allow you to join on SVT.1 -
Gerry's point was that the E7 rates vary significantly between suppliers, unlike the the single rates ones that vary little. Your EDF link is therefore an excellent guide for single rate costs but less so for E7.Mstty said:

Any more to jump in🤣🤣🤣 let's see if the OP is with EDF first.

As you have seen from the discussion above there is no general E7 capped tariff.38brianp said:I am on an electricity only economy 7 tariff due to expire shortly and am trying to budget for increasing prices. In this regard I am looking for the current kw/hr cap rate for this tariff - grateful for help here please.
First we need to know who your supplier is. Also they should have informed you by email of their SVT rates and also offered their cheapest fixed tariff (which will not be your cheapest option).1 -
The OP needs to establish his actual annual consumption derived from actual meter readings. Then do the sums for the annual cost, comparing his existing supplier, EDF and Octopus, all on their SVTs.If EDF or Octopus work out cheaper then switch to them, noting that this can only be achieved by telephone. That's probably as good as it gets right now, but with all the unknowns about future capping levels and the extra help about to be announced by Mr. Sunak, whatever course of action is chosen can only be a gamble.0

Yes, I'll jump in being on an E7 tariff. Gerry1 is quite right about the different E7 rates between suppliers. I've recently looked at mine as I was considering changing supplier. The single rate SVR tariffs are however pretty consistent across suppliers so are a good "guide".Mstty said:Any more to jump in🤣🤣🤣 let's see if the OP is with EDF first.
