HDMI High speed

Richer sounds have given me a £10 credit because a cable wasn't in the box with the sound bar and offered me a £10 HDMI cable which I said I need the high speed one and sent them the link to the £20 one.

Since it it is 1.5 Mtr long is it ok to loop it round it's self to shorten it or will that affect its performance?

If you read the end of the article that I posted, the quality of the plugs is a an important consideration.

With a looped cable it may put more strain on those plugs.

If put in a loose loop there won't be detrimental effect. Mine have been looped for a couple of years with not effect. The only time it's worth paying attention to strength is if the cable is one that is continually moved from the TV, PC or Game Consul etc.

I have used kenable and other cheap cables in the past with no issues

If the run is extra long you can use cat6 with hdmi terminals
