How do I find information about a cancelled flight from 2019? I do not have my emails anymore.

Options
In 2019, My husband and I had a flight booked to Salzburg with Ryanair on either Sunday 18th or Sunday 25th August 2019. About a week beforehand, Ryanair cancelled the flight and put us on the flight the previous day (either Saturday 17th or Saturday 24th August 2019). We could not get the extra night in the hotel we had booked, so asked for a refund, which we received. Because we got our refunds, we deleted all emails. We would like to claim compensation, as we were unaware we could back then. However, how do we ascertain which flight it was? We know it would have been the morning flight as we always book the dawn flights. Firstly, is there any method of finding out which date the flight was cancelled (out of the two Sundays), and also, because I have no proof now of us being on the flight (except on my credit card where I will have the refunds from Ryanair), am I able to claim compensation? Any advice would be appreciated.

You accepted the refund and by doing so gave up your right to compensation. There is nothing more to be done.
  • I think you misunderstand. I'm talking about compensation from the airline for cancelling my flight, not for the hotel. Under EU  Regulation Nr. 261/2004, I'm entitled to compensation. All I want to know is whether there is a method of looking back to find out which flight was cancelled, and whether I can claim compensation without my emails?

what was the reason for the cancellation? (not all cancellations mean compensation)
you could sign up for a paid subscription to one of the flight history websites and search there or use one of the flight claims website such as EUClaim or Bottonline and select the route/date
I think you will struggle with a claim without a booking reference

I think the time to sort this out was back in 2019 shortly after the cancellation occurred and when you still had all the paperwork and memory of the day/date of departure.   As Caz3121 says, not all cancellations would qualify for compensation and finding out the reason three years later when you have no records, paperwork and little recollection will be difficult.  Might be time to just move on and put this behind you.

You might be able to submit a Subject Access Request to Ryanair.  ANY data, comms invoices etc would have to be revealed to you.
That's assuming they haven't deleted said data. (I would argue for tax/audit/H&S etc they shouldn't deleted it)
