The other thing that occurs to me is that if your house purchase goes through OK, then landlords' references are irrelevant.
Good luck!2 -
So I thought I’d update. Following the check out email I emailed back to ask them to cancel as I had not given notice. I got a sharp email back saying I did not need to give notice as the landlord had they had already told me this. Now I know this not to be true.So I though in for a penny in for a pound and asked if there was any chance I might be released early if I do exchange sooner. She said she’d speak to the landlord and let me know. This was about 2 weeks ago. I emailed to follow up and got a curt response to say she was still waiting to hear back.I have now exchanged I’ve not told them or given notice as I have been repeatedly told not to by them. There will be some over lap with mortgage and rent but that was expected. The mind boggles I don’t understand why they keep lying.5

I could give you the long winded waffle or get a ban by giving the short version...When do you complete? If you expect to complete before your contract ends, whilst 'I don't think you need to give notice at the end of your fixed term contract' I would tell them.We had a month overlap when we bought. It helped us move in a leisurely fashion.Tell them your last day is the last day of your contract and not before.May you find your sister soon Helli.
