Hi! Did you have any response to your complaint?

I just received my paper forms from Gladstones regarding a PS24 ticket from years ago and really unsure on whether to pay up as I genuinely forgot to pay that day (parked there very often so wasn’t like I didn’t pay every day on purpose).
Hi. Apologies for late response- taken a break from all this while kids on summer hols.

Complaint unsuccessful really. Landowner thought done me a favour by contacting PPC who "reduced" charge to £100. Escalated complaint to council via MP who took weeks to "investigate" & get back & advised not their land & referred me back to charity group who run museum. Council CFO did agree to meet with me (i'd offered this in my letter) however I could tell from tone of letter he just paying lip service & would be waste of time. Also don't want to risk becoming a "special case". Therefore response left with solicitor & to date have heard nothing & getting on with life....

@unapologicallyme just realised your query was probably for @Luffy135. Apologies for hijacking this thread! (Will be keeping my own thread updated if query was for me).

Where is your case upto @Luffy135? I'd also be interested to know.Thanks.
  • Thought I'd post my update here - I have had the following response from Gladstones (after 3 months of silence):

    -----------------------------------------------------------

"We write further to your matter and your email of 19/06/2022 as attached below.

Thank you for providing us with your current address details.

For the avoidance of doubt, we confirm the Parking Charge Notice (PCN) [ref] was incurred to a vehicle registration number [registration] at [location], for parked on non designated bay. Please find the attached evidence.

We note your comments, however it is not our intention to reply substantively, because most of it is irrelevant.

There is a sufficient signage in and around the site that clearly states terms and conditions. By entering and remaining on the site you as the driver agreed to the contractual terms and as your vehicle was in contravention of the agreed terms and conditions for all users of this site, therefore the charge has been issued correctly.

Please note the contract that our Client holds with a Landowner includes commercially sensitive information and it will not be provided at his stage.

As payment is now significantly outstanding, we invite you to make payment in a sum of £130.00 by 1st November 2022.

In the event payment is not made in full or we do not receive an offer of repayment within the time scale specified, our Client may elect to issue legal proceedings without further recourse to you and additional costs will be sought."

    -----------------------------------------------------------

If anyone else is in a similar position, I'd love to hear where you're all up to. I had stopped in some hatch markings (out of the way) for a total of 9 minutes while trying to find a parking space. I had already paid for my parking session by this point, and left my car to look for anybody leaving and a space to become free.

I'm not sure what to reply to them, or whether I should just wait for the next stage?

Any advice or help would be appreciated!

How about 'Please open a new thread of your own'?  You can't just jump onto someone else's case and take over their thread.  In any event you have provided so little context, not even the name of the claimant. Please provide all the details including the history and what you've sent already to Gladstones, then you'll get plenty of help relevant to your particular circumstances.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
