Hoover bags for clothes

Tried searching hoover bags but I'm just getting results for like Henry hoover bags & that's not what I'm after.
Do all hoover storage bags let air in fairly quickly? Or are there any decent ones where once you've sucked all the air out they stay that way, or at least stay that way for a considerable amount of time?
I put some bedding in a few bags we have on Friday last week. Sucked the air out, sounded like the Henry was about to blow up, capped it off & for now just chucked it in the spare room while I'm still sorting out.
Gone to get something this morning - air is in the bag. All slightly pointless.
Don't mind spending a bit if there's ones that are decent & will stay as they're supposed to but if they all end up going like what I have then I may as well just stick with what I have.

You mean vacuum storage bags?
Have had many different options from Amazon over the years... all have been fairly poor in terms of keeping the air out but generally they've been put into their confined space home by then and so cannot fully expand anyway... does make getting them out a challenge sometimes.0 -

If it helps I have some vacuum storage bags that have been in the loft with virtually no air leakage over 8 months. I got them from Sainsburys.1

They are for me just how they are. I have used a heat sealed vacuum bag on one small item that I wanted to put in long term storage and its still as it was when it was sealed 5 years ago but that's very limited in size and not environmentally friendly seeing as you have to cut it open (though leaving a bit extra means you can reseal it a couple of times)1 -
Yeah I don't want something like that tbh. I want it to be reusable for sure. Not just once or twice.Oh well looks like I'll have to just deal with it then. Thanks all the same.0

I'm sure I bought bags from Lakeland. I'll see if I can find them tomorrow, to see the brand.
My eldest son studied in various places in Europe and he vacuum packed a single duvet, bedding, pillows and clothes so he only needed one big suitcase. All worked well.1 -
I've got these, one did leak and I received a partial refund, the rest have been used more than once with no problems

John Lewis do good quality resealable vacuum storage bags - probably not the cheapest though.
The plastic on the JL ones seems thicker than others I've used, and the valve works well to stop reinflation after the air has been sucked out, but before the top is put back.0 -

Bought this a year ago, can be used with their hand pump supplied or vacuum (so vacuum basically!!). Mine are still holding my bedding and pillows 1 year later in the same way they did on the day of use.

Not sure if they're still sold as I haven't seen them for a while, but we bought the SPANTAD ones from Ikea. You get a little sealer tool with them and they seem to last well without letting in air0
