I’m doing similar with the refilling of YNAB pots after unexpected dental treatment and car repairs. The want is to fill them up immediately, but it’s actually not realistic and tbh, if the poop hit the whirly thing, I have enough in overall savings to be able to cover most things (I think! 🤞😉)

Hair appointment done this week - very annoyed about the parking, the meter wasn't accepting my money and by the time I'd found one that did work it had slipped over into the next hour and was more expensive. Only a pound but still!
Spent today planting bulbs and pulling weeds and mowing the lawn, and there's still more to do on Tuesday. Holding back the tulips until later, because that's what Gardeners World told me to do, but hopefully everything else goes in this week.
Last train for my holiday sorted, so that's the last big spendy thing I need to do for that before going, unless I book something in advance.
Music concert booked for November, so I have a Thing to look forward to that month now to get me out the house (£23). Also booked some online British Library talks for November as well (£6.50 each).
Settling in for an evening of tv and reading dishwasher reviews to figure out what I want from an appliance I've never owned before, in the hope that that encourages me to have the money spare to take advantage of Black Friday sales.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@South_coast - unfortunately not a RingGo carpark - just a machine that takes cash or card (or neither as the case may be). All of the carparks in all the local towns like to use completely different payment methods so my phone is about 10% parking apps.
@LadyWithAPlan - we do not talk about how much my hairdresser is, but yes, it is the £1 that tips me over.
@savingholmes - I've never had one, but honestly I can't wait. If nothing else, I need somewhere to store the dirty dishes until I can be bothered to wash them!Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Thanks Merlin - you've made me realise there probably isn't a dishwasher where I'm going - so definitely a priority to resolve. I have one I can take with me - but would need help getting it plumbed in and such. Not sure there's an allocated space either and I lack the skills to resolve it. Kitchen refit rising up the priority list!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I would say that (like a washing machine) you won't use most of the functions. I have had top and bottom budget ones over the years, but would re-buy an entry level Miele for choice. It never sprayed gunk onto the dishes (like the bosh and indash*t) and I only replaced it with an expensive Miele one because the plastic door handle perished mid lockdown and I couldn't get an entry level Miele again. The expensive one is going strong but I only ever use the 65 degree/50 minute programme. Check your plates fit - my bigger ones catch due to the top cutlery rack which the old ones didn't have.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I have a pot for my hairdresser - as I go approx every 10 weeks. I am lucky as he is a lovely friend and also helped him with some legal stuff when he was setting up on his own so I get reduced rate - luckily ... cos otherwise ouch...... but my hair has no chemicals on it..
I am not sure what type hair you have but that K18 Hair mask is amazing - expensive - but last for ages and takes my hair to a whole new level. I gather that Olapl*x does similar wonders - Mr ALD* does a bonding range of shampoos etc that my friend has switched to which are far more MSE
But the extraneous £1's or £4's if the coffee I buy out is bad such as my college coffee - that just annoys me..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
